Overview
Credits
Write a short summary of what happens in the radio or audio execution or campaign.
The radio spot takes the listener through a day in the life of a person. As we hear what she’s doing, we realize there’s something strange about it. She’s in completely different places within short periods of time, she appears to be an adult and a kid at the same time, and there are a lot of contradictions in her story. The spot ends with the line “A single person could bring many stories to life,” revealing that the main character was an organ donor, and she is living different lives through different organ recipients’ stories.
Cultural/Context information for the jury
95% of Americans are in favor of being a donor, but only 58% are registered.
Script. Provide the full radio advert script in English.
A day in the life of Steven Lackey. It’s 8 o clock and Steven a 34-year-old gardener, is writing code for an encrypted cybersecurity app, 10 minutes later he gets married to Layla, his high school sweetheart, at 8:22 he puts on a black miniskirt, goes to a bar and meets Raul from Venezuela, at 8:24 he hits the ski slopes and one minute later he drops in on a sick wave with the dudes in Malibu, a bit later at 8:26 he plays the trumpet with a jazz quartet, at 8:30 he gives a lecture about the rise of the Ottoman Empire at the University of Maryland and finally at 8:40 his mom sends him to bed because it’s a school night and way past his bedtime.
A single person can bring many stories to life.
Register as an organ donor at donatelifecalifornia.org and you could save up to 8 lives.
