BriefExplanation

There’s drama in the neighborhood. A distraught man has barricaded himself in his home, overwhelmed by the prospect of joining Twitter. The situation is tense until a skilled negotiator – comedian Romesh Ranganathan – arrives on the scene talk him down. Through wit and wisdom, Romesh not only gets Kenny (aka @NotoriousKennyG) to join Twitter, but introduces him to the joy and wonder that comes with being part of the conversation.

EntrySummary

While the references we make are most likely self-evident, here are some notes on the pop culture references:

• Kenny G is a cult favorite smooth jazz musician from the 80s.

• Notorious B.I.G. is a legendary rapper from the 90s

• Lonzo Ball is a popular new NBA basketball player.

Solution

We wanted to convey both a dramatic scenario and a comedic plotline, so it was key to strike the perfect balance between serious and humorous. Using this approach, we framed a story around guiding new users through the Twitter Platform while showing current users how to make the most of their experience on Twitter. To achieve this, the director combined a classic horror/drama film look and feel with the dry wit of our main characters, and nurtured the chemistry between the two lead actors to seamless effect; they had to go from adversaries to allies through the course of the film. In the end, we had a well-crafted story that nicely encapsulated a typical Twitter newbie’s journey.
