This is an authentic piece of Swedish content, made at some point in Sweden’s past, that originally had absolutely nothing to do with the online shopping app Klarna. The Swedish dialogue is about something completely different than the English subtitles - which we reimagined and rewrote into hard-hitting ads for Klarna. In truth, we have no clue what is happening in this film because it’s all in Swedish. But - in our reimagined version - Thore is singing to his loving wife all about the wonderful online shopping app: Klarna. It is very unlikely, however, that this is what they are really talking about.

Klarna, the shopping app from Sweden, faced the challenge of launching in America. Klarna was trusted in Sweden, yet completely unknown in America and up against the world's largest competitors. Fortunately, 91% of young American’s perceive Sweden to be a progressive and tech forward country.

So, we borrowed the positive equity of an entire country and launched “Swedish For Smooother Shopping,” turning absolutely anything Swedish into hard-hitting ads for Klarna.

From Swedish cinema and TV shows, to commercials, soap operas and more - we transformed 50 years of authentic Swedish film content into over 60 new films by rewriting the Swedish dialogue with reimagined English subtitles about how great shopping with the Klarna app is.

A tremendous light filled the room...

...And three small beings appeared.

They whispered into my mind.

“Shop online with Klarna,” they said.

Then they picked up our dog and flew away.

But they gave me the Klarna app.

So I guess you could say we’re cool.

...And that’s where I was last night.
