BriefExplanation

Bheki, a young Mbhaco maker, is tasked to create the most magnificent Mbhaco he’s ever made. This challenge leads him on a search for inspiration. His search results in the adventure packed journey of a lifetime, through locations, cultures and experiences in South Africa that neither he nor the audience have ever seen. In the process he gives potential travellers to South Africa an authentic taste of what it would be like to travel through our unique country and meet the real South Africa.

At the end of his journey Bheki has gathered so much inspiration that he finds himself having to make not one, but two imibhaco. The second being for the lovely Rashida who steals his heart along the way.

EntrySummary

What is uMbhaco you ask? It is a traditional Xhosa wedding dress, the design of which is inspired by the landscapes, heritage and experiences of the bride-to-be. Just like the diverse landscapes, cultures and experiences of a trip through South Africa, no two imibhaco are ever same.
