Each of these 30-60-second musical commercials were written, performed, and engineered by Singaporean buskers, for world-famous brands like Pizza Hut, Amazon, KFC, Singtel 5G, and more.

The shortlisted tracks are of different genres, but all conclude with similar audio mnemonics to introduce the talented artists behind them: “This Mediacorp Buskermercial starred local busker, !”

So when 350+ local buskers were banned from the streets for over a year thanks to the pandemic, Mediacorp stepped in.

Introducing Buskermercials: a new format of advertising that gives buskers a new stage. An idea that blends the brand’s purpose of supporting local artists with its business objective of selling commercial spots.

This platform connects talented buskers with world-famous brands, who tend to seek ads with higher media exposure and lower production cost. The unemployed musicians earn 100% of the production fees. While the brands enjoy affordable placements for these memorable songs across Mediacorp’s stations.
