This music video lives on ENTRESTO's Youtube page which is a resource for people seeking information about the brand and heart failure in general.

Background

Heart failure is a serious condition that's misunderstood by many patients.

ENTRESTO is a medicine that's changing the way heart failure is treated.

Our ENTRESTO clients asked us for a method of action video to explain the science behind the medicine and how it works.

We convinced them to have a change of heart.

Instead of using molecules to tell the science story, we used music.

We recorded the first song ever written about heart failure.

Then we brought it to life in a music video that lives on ENTRESTO's Youtube page.

Describe the creative idea

"It's Good to Have a Change of Heart" is the title of the song we created. It's repeated in the chorus multiple times. Our goal is to change peoples' minds and hearts about treating their heart failure.

To do so, we created a story that's all about change. Every time the chorus hits, we change to a different animation style - from 2-D to CGI to wood, clay and paper textures.

The video is about Dan, the drummer of a band called "The H Beats". Dan's heart failure is beginning to affect his performance. Seeing this, a compassionate friend takes him on a journey to learn about the condition and how ENTRESTO can help.

In the end, Dan's beat is restored - a change of heart made possible by a brand that's changing heart failure treatment.

Describe the strategy

Explaining heart failure isn't easy, especially to an audience that isn't interested in science lessons.

But according to neuroscientists, music is a great teaching tool because it targets the hippocampus - the part of the brain where memories are consolidated.

Just as we learned our ABCs by singing the ABC song, we figured we could teach about heart failure by creating a heart failure song.

And even if people only remember the chorus - "It's good to have a change of heart" - it could be enough to inspire action.

The ENTRESTO Change of Heart MOA video has been running on ENTRESTO's YouTube page since September 2020.

Describe the outcome

With little paid promotion, the ENTRESTO Youtube page doesn't generate huge traffic. That said, the Change of Heart MOA video has attracted over 1.6 million views - a number that will grow dramatically when it starts running on entresto.com later this year.

Branded pharma content in the US is strictly regulated as is content on Youtube. Per regulations, our two minute method of action video is followed by more than 3 minutes of scrolling safety information.

Describe the target audience and why your work is relevant to them.

Our target is patients who've been diagnosed with heart failure and those who will be (1 in 5 people will develop heart failure in their lifetime). Heart failure is a serious condition that's often misunderstood. Education is sorely needed.
