Cultural / Context information for the jury
The majority of South Africans have a hard time letting go of old possessions. This has likely much to do with the post traumatic stress of living in the time of apartheid where much was forcefully taken away from them. This makes it a standing challenge everything one calls on South Africans to donate anything. We overcame this challenge however by showcasing the physical effects left on the skin when one refuses to let go of old clothes - we wanted to stress the frugality of holding on to that which we have outgrown and the importance of letting go for the betterment of those less fortunate.
