BriefExplanation

To demonstrate the extraordinary prophetic power of the IKEA catalogue, we analyzed the pages of the 2013 edition and we dug up clues and premonitions about the birth of George, the Royal Baby.

EntrySummary

The annual release of a new IKEA catalogue is always an event in the world of home decor and renovation. This iconic object has been anticipating people's needs and predicting how life at home changes for over 60 years.

To launch the new 2018 catalogue, IKEA Italy rode the wave of internet's wildest conspiracy theories and created a series of surrealistic, super-social videos that made a shocking announcement: IKEA predicted much more than just styles and trends. So much more.

Are you ready to see something unbelievable?

This is just one of the many IKEA catalogs that have predicted how the world would change. You don't believe us? We're going to show you.

The 2013 catalogue: you only have to glance at two pages to notice something strange. Look at the top. On the shelf there's a butterfly. Why a butterfly? And why THIS butterfly?

Because it's pretty, you may think. Delicate, carefree. But no.

Because it's clearly a monarch butterfly. And how could it be otherwise…

Think about it: this is the 2013 catalogue, the year when the Future Monarch of England would be born.

I'm talking about the Royal Baby who would be born on July 22nd that year.

The announcement was welcomed by a huge crowd that assembled outside Buckingham Palace. And aren't those the gates to the Royal Palace in the framed photograph in the center? Yes, they are.

But the catalogue was printed many months before that.

How did IKEA know almost a year before the event?

Now look in the center of the page and you'll discover the initial of his first name. The G in George.

A name destined to wear the crown. And what do you think this object is, if not one of the trimmings of royalty?

But IKEA didn't only anticipate the name… it also knew the baby would be a boy.

Just look to the right: isn't that the statue of a white horse? Have you ever seen a princess riding a white horse?

No. And in fact the baby would be a prince.

And there's more: look in the center and you'll immediately see an old measuring tape lying on the pouffe. A tape that, as you all know, measures how high things are. And who's higher than his royal highness prince?
