Ama is an association committed to reducing the amount of abandoned, mistreated and neglected pets in Guatemala, especially dogs.

Over the last few years Ama has been affected by the amount of un-adopted dogs as potential new owners feared how the adopted animal would behave once they were taken home. As a result, the little furry ones were being returned.

It was because of this that we were asked to work on a campaign that would counter such scenario.

A large percentage of new owners are young couples who live on their own, it was because of this that we were asked to work on a campaign that would counter such scenario.

We created a device that allows the owner to be aware of his pets behavior regardless of where the owner was. It’s a tool that builds an emotional bond between the new owner and the pet in an innovative way.

Doguimote is a dog collar with a GPS tracking device, which through the use of an app, allows the owner to have total control of the pet. The owner in addition to knowing the pet’s exact location can also communicate verbally with the pet.

The app maps the house or apartment according to its dimensions which then syncs with the collar and as easy as that, it triggers an alarm every time the pet enters an area in which we don’t want it to be in.

Doguimote was handed out with each adoption until the dog was completely adapted to its new home and then it was ready for the next little furry.

The emotional bond that was created between the dog and the owner was incredible. Doguimote allowed the owner to have control and constant attention of his pet even away from home. In addition to this, it made its adapting phase easier minimizing the damage the pet could cause being alone at home and maximizing the friendship between the both of them.

Doguimote quickly turned into the perfect solution for more than 250 families who had also adopted dogs. Doguimote connected thousands of best friends and kept them connected without the fear of losing the created bond due to the behavior of the furry little ones

Within the first two months after its launch, Doguimote obtained free media equivalent to Ama spending 4 years worth of marketing budget.
