A young soccer player is snapped out of his day dreaming when the ball rolls towards him and comes to rest at his feet. He is not used to being part of the action, but in an unusual display of courage he kicks the balls. It's a break through for the young man and what seems like a small action to us has significant meaning tin the young boys life. A moment made possible by the funding from lotto players.

‘Dylan’ 60”

We open on a chubby young boy on a football pitch. He looks as though he’s lost in his own world, clearly not used to being part of the action. A soccer ball enters frame and rolls towards him.

VO: And one day the ball rolled to Dylan…

We cut to see a stampede of players charging towards him.

VO: This was highly irregular.

Dylan’s face is a mixture of excitement and fear.

VO: But he kicked it.

Dylan feebly taps at the ball with his foot. We see one of the athletic kids from the other team charge in, but miss the ball and go flying past.

VO: Well, was more of a trepidatious tap, like his dog, Byron, nosing an unknown treat.

We cut away to the underside of a dinner table where a scrappy dog is licking a Brussels sprout.

VO: But the crowd was on their feet…

We cut back to the field where a few parents are standing on the sideline. They were clearly already standing.

VO: …and what followed would be the subject of dinner conversation for the next month.

Cut to see Dylan’s dad talking excitedly at the dinner table. Dylan listens on happily, whilst his sister looks bored and the rest of the family politely feigns interest.

VO: Having evaded the attacking player…

Cut back to the field. From Dylan’s POV we see him looking down at his feet.

VO: …his right leg, which up until now seemed bent on sabotaging his every move…

We see Dylan in the bath tub, eyeing his foot with suspicion.

VO: …sent the ball sailing over to a team…
