BriefExplanation
SKY Television, New Zealand’s largest satellite television provider, asked us to promote the newly discounted price of their Arts Channel.
For just an added $2.95 a week, SKY subscribers could sign up and enjoy the life and work of some of history’s greatest artists.
We created a radio campaign that put into perspective the enormous price these artists paid to create their work, and the comparative pittance SKY subscribers paid to enjoy it.

ANN: Jackson Pollock wouldn’t like you. That being said, he didn’t like many people. He was an angry man.
Expelled from art school and prone to irrational violence, Pollock sought solace in a world of abstract expressionism. But there was little refuge to be found.Furious at an industry devoid of originality, he threw a canvas on the floor, splashed it with paint and became an overnight sensation. Not that that was his intention. As fame enveloped from all angles, Pollock discovered that the art he’d truly mastered, was hatred. He hated the critics who sought meaning where there was none, and he hated the fans who fuelled his fame. But the person he loathed more than anyone, was himself. So he downed a bottle of vodka and sped his Oldsmobile into a tree.
Jackson Pollock didn’t like many people, but he especially wouldn’t have liked you.
And when you consider you can enjoy every drop of the man’s artistic legacy for a trivial $2.95, you can hardly blame him.
The Arts Channel on SKY, just $2.95 a week.
Art, for an insultingly low price.
