LEGO PlayWaves delivers an immersive soundscape that brings to life LEGO worlds spanning the depths of outer space to the African safari. Each unique world features a custom made music track and hundreds of sounds that can be activated by voice command. Children are empowered to choose-their-own-adventure and unlock endless audio experiences.

The pacing of the hero tracks is designed to help kids remain focused on play and engaged in the experience. The audio also features a narrator who plays a key role in the story development and providing positive reinforcement to the decisions children make.

Free play mode can be activated that allows kids to use their imagination to create scenes that they can ask Google to play sounds to bring to life.

Please outline the innovative elements of the work

LEGO Playwaves sought to bring new life to kids’ old LEGO bricks. By taking them away from screens and re-igniting their imagination through sound.

We created five immersive sonic worlds across 10 action-packed missions that kids could explore on their own, or with the help of a narrator to guide the way.

Powered by Google Assistant, kids controlled how they progressed through each world. As we fused time old LEGO bricks with the latest audio technology. The audio was scored to keep their attention, with characters, soundscapes and original composed tracks, designed to entertain them and reignite their imaginations with endless play.

In each world, kids could request individual sound effects whenever they wanted. For example, in the Downtown Detective world they could ask for the sounds of a jail, sirens, police radio, and police helicopter. Using Google’s voice platform to optimise audio recognition ongoing.
