With the release of this book, the idea was not only to increase the sales of the magazine and sell the book, but also to keep building the concept that "If they explain it with football, you get it". Through this tagline, the magazine has positioned itself as a reference publication in the world of football information, unlike the daily sports publications that are always looking for the controversial story, this one provides quality texts using football to discuss important issues such as culture, stories or nostalgia.

"My Future Football Star" is a book that could only be purchased through the magazine's website. Then, readers who bought the magazine had the possibility to also order the book.

Execution

The new edition of the magazine was launched in March, the month in which Spain celebrates Father's Day. The book "My Future Football Star" was a piece developed to launch within this month. Libero is a magazine whose core target market is men over the age of 30, the age at which they start thinking about having kids. The purchase of this book was available on the magazine's website and could be purchased with the new edition of the magazine or separately. All printed copies (1k) were sold out during the first month.

Outcome

During its first month of release, all copies of the book were sold out and March magazine sales increased by 15%. Visits to the website increased by 20% and the cost of sales per response was € 2,15.

Furthermore, the release of this book continued to build not only the concept "If they Explain it with football, you get it", but also the tone of humor that characterizes the brand.

Synopsis

Libero is a magazine that is sold mainly through subscription (65%). Therefore, developing a communication piece that could be sold through the same channels was a benefit that the magazine could take advantage of. In the same way that readers could buy a copy of the magazine through the website, they could also order the book "My Future Football Star".
