CampaignDescription
Branded Content is still an emergent category in Spain. Clients don't usually consider Branded Content as a category to invest on but it's becoming more important due to the main TV Channel, La 1, doesn't accept TV spots.
Effectiveness
In creating this book, the agency team worked with regular contributors to the magazine in order to compile a list of 500 football players that children could be named after. We developed a short biography with their outstanding achievements and some historical reviews that show us some players backgrounds, like traditional naming books. On each letter we feature the most emblematic players with that initial in their names.
Implementation
The new edition of the magazine was launched in March, the month in which Spain celebrates Father's Day. The book "My Future Football Star" was a piece developed to launch within this month. Libero is a magazine whose core target market is men over the age of 30, the age at which they start thinking about having kids. The purchase of this book was available on the magazine's website and could be purchased with the new edition of the magazine or separately. All printed copies (1k) were sold out during the first month.
Outcome
The publication of this book increased sales of the new magazine edition by 15% and also sold out the total number of copies (1k).
This contributed to distinguishing the magazine over other football magazines, because through the concept of explaining life with football, we had achieved one more time, the ability to discuss one of the biggest problems that the couples face.
Relevancy
"My Future Football Star" is much more than a book. It's a big piece of content generated between Libero's regular contributors and the agency that gives parents resources to name their kids. A book with more than 500 hundred names with their own biography, achievements, trophies, feats. "If they explain it with football, you get it" is the concept that the magazines uses to explain life through football and this book also does the same with baby names.
