Four evil characters – Death, a Werewolf, a Mummy and a Mad Scientist – are taking their regular morning commute. They’re chatting about evil stuff, as they always do: death rays and the Apocalypse etc...

Death is not listening. He just received a text message that his kids are going crazy. The home satellite dish cut out, again, because of the rain. This shocks these four evil monsters. They can all appreciate a nice bit of evil. But, this? This takes evil to an entirely new, very uncomfortable level. What kind of people could sell a product like this? Distracted, Death touches the dozing commuter beside him. Ooops. Bad idea.

The message? Even evil people know when something is very, very wrong. Like Satellite that goes out in the rain. Evil. And Spectrum wouldn’t do that. Or, in simple, monster speak: Satellite Bad. Spectrum Good.

The trick here was to take these tropey, 30’s and 40’s movie monsters and dimensionalize them for the modern world. So we gave them every day problems and tried to play the real believable emotions under the surface of the scenes for each of them. We tried to update the characters through modern takes on their make up and wardrobe, accenting each character with some touches that evoked the cliche but also kept a foot in the modern world.
