The Audi RS3 Sportback is the newest member of the “RS” (the Audi Sport) range. This car is built from the same performance and design DNA as Audi’s most iconic performance model, the R8.

In this Cinema and on-line film we see the iconic R8 (The mother of supercars), ‘give birth’ to this newest member of the RS family, the RS3 Sportback.

Everything in this commercial is 100% CG and photo-real. Every single pixel of this 110 second film was computer generated.

The team of animation artists pushed the boundaries of VFX, carefully crafting both cars and the surrounding environment entirely in CG over the course of just nine weeks to help create a powerful, mechanical and organic spot.

The animation team were involved at every stage of the project from concept and previs to the final execution, creating a 100% photo-real environment and cars entirely from scratch.

Every single component of the cars was precisely created in CG using CAD data. The distinctive chamber environment was then modelled and rigged in meticulous detail along with the CAD cars in Maya, before each shot was animated, bringing the CG images to life.

We have created a ground breaking project that pushes the boundaries of creativity and craft in animation, bringing the new Audi RS3 to life.
