BriefExplanation

So we captured the sound identities of Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam, and integrated them into three adapted audio billboards. Integrated into each map were over one thousand headphone jacks. Each jack lead to a unique sound from that city. The sounds included overheard conversations, street musicians, language lessons, market sellers, church bells, scam artists routines, and hundreds more. Through a partnership with the French National Sound Archives, historic sounds were also used for the Paris billboard.

The billboards were located in Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels. Pedestrians in these cities had the opportunity to discover the sounds of another city, using their own headphones.
