We’re set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We open close on Super Hero Sam Wilson (AKA Falcon from Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and The Winter Soldier). He describes the crazy things he’s been through – fighting as an Avenger, taking down aliens, and even meeting a talking tree. But the craziest thing of all? He was blipped out of existence for five years by the Avengers villain Thanos. He asks an unseen figure what he’s missed in the five years he was gone…as we pull back to reveal Sam is in a video game store. The store clerk points to the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles and we bring our spot to a close with a smirk from Sam. In a button, our clerk (recognizable to Marvel fans from Captain America: The Winter Soldier) asks Sam if he can “see the wings”… before apologizing for being unprofessional.

The Xbox Series X is the newest Xbox video game console, launched in November 2020, seven years in the making. Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that gives gamers access to 100+ high-quality games. Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is a Disney+ original series set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and it’s viewership has been reported to have outpaced The Mandalorian and WandaVision. Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, first appeared in 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. After taking on the heroic role of “Falcon,” Sam has appeared in multiple MCU films before being handed the shield of Captain America by Steve Rogers in the finale of Avengers: Endgame.
