Write a short summary of what happens in the film.
We joined forces with the agency and director Ian Pons Jewell to create a three-minute film of epic proportions for Facebook Oculus’s latest campaign. The spot showcases cinematic portrayals of classic Oculus titles such as Medal of Honor, Beat Saber and The Walking Dead.
Tell the jury about the visual effects and summarise any relevant challenges or techniques.
We utilised every VFX skill in the book to bring each vignette to life. From intricate headset transitions, crowd zombies, huge matte painting environments, complicated camera stitching, water simulations, explosions, fishing rod extensions, gliding digi doubles more smoke than a 90’s disco this project had it all!
“With each shot being a commercial in it’s own right, it gave us the ability to help craft the rhythm of the shot with VFX. For example in Medal of Honor we timed explosions and water impacts to compliment the hero action adding trepidation and danger to an expertly filmed and choreographed one shot.
In contrast we would also create full CG worlds in the likes of Climb, creating a bespoke city builder tool to generate a vast cityscape”
