BriefExplanation

The lowest form of public transport. Nothing sounds more nightmarish than being trapped inside one with a group of contagious strangers. But, watching someone painfully deal with this misconception as it intensi es is pure comedy gold.

The dialogue is snappy. The characters are complex, but are super relatable. And shooting in tiny spaces creates a perfect backdrop for great drama. Nice.

Implementation

On the surface, it’s just five people in an elevator talking at cross-purposes. But there was a lot of boring information we needed to be communicated without ever feeling boring. So it was crucial to find a dynamic group of funny humans who could bring the script to life.

The balancing act of personalities was crucial. Essentially an unwell ensemble cast on a small scale. The misdirection and sub-plot meant we needed strong comic actors with a natural sense of timing.

A lot of our time was spent curating different groups to get a sense of chemistry and vibe. Once we’d found an interesting elevator crew, we started introducing different protagonists to see how they’d interact.

The final group were able to hit that sweet spot between illness and lifetime health cover.
