‘Love stories on the radio’ are a series of ‘audiobook’ style short stories. Designed to answer the creative challenge – to get listeners to consider using Cif Cream to clean objects other than just sinks and baths – each execution first creates the impression of some kind of romantic encounter. Only at the end of each commercial is it revealed that the protagonist has actually fallen in love with an object they have restored back to its former glory with Cif Cream. To add depth and authenticity to the audiobook format, each story is read by a well-known actor.

Nigel had always known that his wife had ‘unusual’ tastes, but over the years, he’d learned to turn a blind eye to her impulsive desires. So when Samantha first brought this new love of hers home, he hadn’t really worried. In fact, he’d dismissed this scruffy and unkempt individual as just another of her infatuations.

But now, as he peered through the shutters at the two of them together in the garden, he couldn’t help but feel a sharp pang of jealousy.

Through the dappled sunlight, he could see the delight etched on her beautiful face as she lovingly rubbed the cream into those strong, sturdy arms. The transformation was almost complete. And to think, she’d only picked up that garden chair at the car boot sale last saturday.
